JOHN O ISSIS, M.D.

Dr. Issis received his Medical Degree at The University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. He completed  his Residency  in General Surgery  at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham,  as well as at  Meridia Huron Hospital and  MetroHealth St Luke's Medical Center  both in Cleveland , Ohio.  He began his private practice career over  23 years ago when he joined Surgery South.  Dr. Issis is a highly experienced General Surgeon who brings advanced techniques and expertise to  Birmingham residents.

 

Dr. Issis is Board certified by the American College of Surgery and a member of the Alabama Medical Association. He has served as the head of the Surgery department at UAB Medical West as well as being involved in many  commitees and departments during his prestigious career.

JUSTIN D MOELLINGER, M.D.

MATTHEW W REED, M.D.

Dr. Moellinger received his Medical Degree at The University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama.  He completed his Residency  in General Surgery at the University of Alabama Hospital  in 2004 and began his private pratice career at Surgery South the same year.  Dr. Moellinger has certifications in Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Cardiac Life Support.

 

Dr. Moellinger is Board certified by the American College of Surgery and  is a member of the Alabama Medical Association in which he is a current board member.  He has served as the head of Surgery at UAB Medical West as well as being involved in other commitees and departments. 

Dr. Reed received his Medical Degree at  The University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, Alabama.  He completed his Residency  in General Surgery at  Baptist Health Systems in Birmingham, where he was named intern of the year 2007-2008, and top chief resident  2011-2012. Dr. Reed began his private practice career in July 2012 when he joined Surgery South.

 

Dr. Reed is Board Certified by the American College of Surgery and is a member of the Alabama Medical Association.  He currently serves as the head of the Surgery Department at UAB Medical West.
